The organization works with many partners and needs to keep internal roles staffed. To help their two-person recruitment team meet their goals, Gener8tor brought on Qualifi.

When Gener8tor needed to conduct a first-round interview, they would speak to about 14 people a day before Qualifi. 

Now

Gener8tor can review 60 candidates in one day. The streamlined process that Qualifi created has helped them speed up their time-to-hire and craft a better candidate experience. 

The Challenge 

“It was a mess before Qualifi,” says Joelle Rosen, Director of Talent Acquisition at Gener8tor, who recalls the tipping point when they brought Qualifi on board. “Before, it was a huge time stuck [to get through] our first-round interviews. We weren't able to get nearly as many candidates through our process without Qualifi.”

Joelle shares that before Qualifi, when someone applied, they would review the resume, go back and forth to schedule a Zoom session, then start the interview process. “We would sit on back-to-back interviews all day long, probably having a 20-minute break in the entire day,” says Joelle. “ And then at night, obviously, you have to do all of the other work. So really, my day just never ended.” 

The Process 

Once Gener8tor was able to bring on an interview tool like Qualifi, they found it was much easier to get through lots of interviews in a short amount of time. Today, they can review around 300 a month. 

Gener8tor also found that they could improve their candidate experience by using Qualifi. 

“[We were able to] give everyone a really great experience, I think,” says Joelle. “Because when you think about when you're... as a recruiter on interviews, back to back to back to back, how much energy do you have by the last one? And I believe in giving every single candidate 110% of your attention. It just didn't feel like I could do that by the end of the day. So I think being able to give them a consistent experience across the board was really important, and that's something we were able to do through leveraging Qualifi.”

Because Gener8tor can review more candidates, they can also give more opportunities to applicants who they might have skipped previously. “Yeah, their resume might not have been exactly what we like, but let's give them a shot because it doesn't hurt to give them a Qualifi interview,” says Joelle. “So we're able to look at more candidates, we're doing it a lot more efficiently in providing the candidate experience... or a better candidate experience overall because we're giving them that same experience.

The Result 

Joelle has heard positive feedback from candidates who completed their initial interview using Qualifi. Candidates particularly like that they have some flexibility when they complete an interview. 

“I've gotten a lot of thank-yous from candidates [using Qualifi],” says Joelle. “It shows that we're very thoughtful of their time. That we're allowing them to take it within a three-day window, and it's not at a set amount of time. So I think they're very thankful that we're being cautious of their time… A lot of candidates have said, ‘I've never seen this before, and I really like it.’ It's interesting. It makes them more interested in who we are because they think we're front of the line, doing something different and exciting.”

After using Qualifi Gener8tor found that they were able to:

“I remember going to my co-founder and being like, ‘just look how many people we were able to consider and then how quickly we were able to move them through the process,’” says Joelle. “So I think just seeing the numbers going through was something that drastically changed for the better once we were able to get Qualifi.”
